Marvin Rose is one of the most capable, intelligent individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. As Public Works Director for the City of Sunnyvale, Marvin oversaw what in most organizations of Sunnyvale's size constitutes two departments: public works and utilities. Marvin has time and again proven his strength as a strategic thinker, a problem solver and a practical administrator.
Robert A. Walker
Assistant City Manager, City of Sunnyvale, CA
In the 20+ years that I have known Marvin’s work, I have seen him focus simultaneously on what gets done and how it got done. He has an impressive record of completion of projects significant in their scope and number, but equally important is the integrity with which they were completed. Within Public Works he created an optimistic, can-do culture than includes open communication, fair-mindedness, clarity of goals, and strategic thinking and planning. He is well respected—and liked—by subordinates, peers, and superiors for his technical competence, his values, and his incredible breadth of knowledge.
